Another Beer Ltd is a micro-brewery based in York that was started in 2019 by James Fawcett. James started brewing in a home-made shed in the garden of his shared house in London which gave him the passion and the realisation that he wanted to pursue brewing as a career. At the end of 2018, James relocated to ‘The North’ and Another Beer was born.
Another Beer had one year of great success, selling its flagship 5% American Pale Ale across Yorkshire, Manchester and the Midlands, and was due to release its subsequent two beers just as the pandemic hit in March.
The pandemic gave rise to a ‘support local’ movement across York that was fantastic to see, with many independents collaborating and sharing each other’s success’, which gave Another Beer not only a chance to survive, but an opportunity to thrive.
After joining forces with Mike Lakin, owner of the ‘The Ice Cream Factory Brewery’, we are very proud to be housed in the historic ‘Capaldi’s Ice Cream’ factory on Fetter lane within York’s famous medieval walls. Capaldi history in York can be traced back to before the Second World War and both brands are committed to preserving the history of the building.
Another Beer and The Ice Cream Factory have been able to thrive under the same remarkable roof, with home delivery and take out proving popular for all businesses in 2020, the partnership has allowed both brands to break into an emerging, ever growing market of loyal independent UK shoppers.
Another beer has worked with many notable brands in York and would like to shout out Spark: York, The Crooked Tap Acomb, Micklegate & Fossgate Socials and The Crescent Music Venue as some of our favourite places in York to enjoy another pint.
